Papers, 1857-1917.

Papers created by Oregon farmer and school teacher, Cyrus Hamlin Walker. Materials include: Diary (1857-1858), with additions to 1906; journal (1865-1866) kept during Walker's military service; articles titled "Why the First Oregon Volunteer Infantry was organized", "What the Church can do for the missionary among the Indians" (1917), and "The misunderstood Indians" (1917); declaratory statement from General Land Office (1880). Included with papers are two printed poems by Walker: "The man with the cow" (1900) and "Blazing the Oregon Trail" (1905).
